What’s on my mind:

“Clout chasing a hell of a disease brother” - K.dot

Social media gets blamed for almost everything today and rightfully so. Its viral nature is Girard’s memetic theory on steroids.

Even so, it can’t take all of the blame, the fact that people will engage in online conflict (especially w/strangers) for the sake of boosting popularity is a disease of the individual, not technology.

Equally as disturbing, to me at least, is clout chasing via proxy, the “liking” of someone else’s vitriol. I’d prefer that if someone throws a tomato on stage and you approve of it, that you walk up and stand next to them, instead of jeering from the rafters. Anything else is cowardice.
